VIEWPOINT

William Owens has been a leader in the battle to preserve Biblical morality in our society. He sent a message commenting on the Texas Privacy Act (known as the bathroom bill).

Then Mr. Owens continued with comments that you will find insightful:

“What we are witnessing is a spirit of perversion that has permeated our culture. It's the plain truth. The radical LGBTQ agenda seeks to normalize that which will NEVER be normal. They are indoctrinating our children and grandchildren. Anyone who disagrees with their agenda is persecuted, ridiculed and run out of business. As Christians and people of faith, we have a duty to tell the truth. I recently came across the following statistics:

· The Austin school district has recently begun to advance, often without notifying parents, a curriculum that would teach children to accept homosexuality as a normal and positive lifestyle, and that children as young as four can choose whether to be a boy or a girl;

· The Fort Worth school district, as wells as Dripping Springs and some others across the state, have recently attempted to maintain or mandate a transgender bathroom policy in their schools, allowing boys to enter girls restrooms and locker rooms if they are confused about their gender;

· "Big Brother is Ready to Raid Your Home and Steal Your Child," reads the title of a June 6 article from The Stream. "The Canadian province Ontario just passed a law permitting the government to take children from their homes if their parents do not affirm their gender identity," alerts the article, whose subtitle is this: "Canada is just one step ahead of the United States."

· "Days of Lot: New Survey Finds That Evangelical Christian Support for Gay Marriage Has More Than Doubled" is the title of a June 28, 2017 article in Charisma News. A new Pew Research Survey has found that support for gay marriage is particularly growing among Christian young people. Meanwhile, the article points out that religious liberty dies in proportion to the advance of the gay agenda.

· One final, sobering statistic comes from the American Family Association's June, 2017 newsletter, quoting data from a Harris Interactive survey:"Millennials (ages 18-34) are almost three times more likely than the Boomer generation (20% compared to 7%) to identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer/questioning (LGBTQ). Even more disturbing, the Harris poll also revealed that 12% of Millennials self-identified as 'transgender or gender non-conforming.' That's double the percentage of the previous generation, Generation X (ages 35-51)."

Concluding the article, Owens asks, “Are you aware that gay leaders put their plans in writing? Yes, they have a manifesto that provides details on how they plan on changing our culture.” I

Congratulations to Jamie and Jacquelyn McDowell! Baby Rhett was born June 9. He was 6 lb. 15 oz. and 19¼ inches. Congratulations also to Joe and Jeri Maddox, as well as both big brothers Drake and Maddox!

The sympathy of the congregation is extended to Lynn and Jimmy Pulliam and their families. Linda Moore, Lynn's aunt, passed away Friday, June 23. The graveside service was conducted Monday at Holly Hill.

VBS Trip to Warrenton

Our trip last week to Warrenton could hardly have been more positive! The church there welcomed us and the children were enthusiastic! The high point was 52 children.

Our team was a model of cooperation and service. We gives thanks to the Lord for his blessings and appreciation to our Cedar Grove family for your support!
