yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall exalt you." -James

A group of young students
were asked by their school teacher to make a list of what they
thought were the present-day Seven Wonders of the World. Although
there were some disagreements, the following seven things received
the most votes:
The Great Pyramids of Egypt
2. The Taj Mahal
3. The Grand Canyon
4. The Panama Canal
5. The Empire State Building
6. St. Peter’s Basilica
7. China’s Great Wall
While gathering the votes, the teacher noted
that one quiet student had not turned in her paper yet. So she asked
the girl if she were having trouble with her list. The girl replied,
“Yes, a little. I couldn’t quite make up my mind because there
were so many.” The teacher said, “Well, tell us what you have
– read your list and maybe we can help.” Hesitantly, shyly, the
girl stood up and then read her paper out loud to the class. She
said, “I think the Seven Wonders of the World are:
1. to be able to see
2. to be able to hear
3. to be able to touch
4. to be able to feel
5. to be able to taste
6. to be able to laugh
7. to be able to love.”
The room was so quiet when
she finished that you could have heard a pin drop. Isn’t it
amazing how we overlook and take for granted the gifts that God has
given us? We become so captivated by man-made things that we
sometimes forget the astounding generosity of God.
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the lands.
Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!
Know that the Lord is God! It is he that made us and we are his. We
are his people and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with
thanksgiving and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him and
bless his name. For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures
forever and his faithfulness to all generations (Psalm 100).
look forward to seeing you Sunday with a Bible, a smile, and a
positive word! RA
ARE AT WAR!
The servants of the almighty
God are at war with Satan today and have been since the
beginning of time. This war is real. The fight is for the souls
of men made in the image of God.
There can be no compromise with the
host of hell. The battle rages today and some would say the
battle cannot be won. They add that we lack the manpower, the
finances and the will to fight to the death. This may be true
for some as they linger in indecision, put their trust in human
wisdom and intellect and seek to be friends with a world who
hates the way of God.
It must be said that we cannot give
up nor will we give in. Millions of our fellowmen want to hear
the clear simple message of the kingdom of God while seemingly
some in a great brotherhood have turned to popular programs of
the moment, a play on numbers and the moving message of healing
the body and not the soul.
goal must be to use the zeal and ability of a wonderful
brotherhood to make great plans by local churches. Then we must
have the will with patience to stay the course in planting the
seed of God's kingdom building great churches in every nation on
The numbers were few in the
first century but God went before them to take the saving
message to a lost world. Today there is the same God and the
same gospel and many are committed to fight the battle with the
assurance victory will come now and in eternity.
authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go
therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in
the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.
And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age"
